Nikolay Marinov is 22 years old, born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, currently studying piano at the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia with Prof. Borislava Taneva.

CV - Nikolay Marinov

He started playing piano at the age of 6 and still unfinished 1st grade, he won First Prize at the International Piano Competition “Dr. Voyslav Vuchkovich” in Belgrade, Serbia.

From then until now, he has participated in more than 40 International Competition in Europe and the USA, in which he has won prizes such as:

First Prize at the “Flame” Piano Competition in Paris – France; First Prize on the  International Piano Competition “Nikolay Rubinstein” in Paris – France; First Prize on the International Piano Competition “Mozart” in Rome – Italy; Second Prize winner at the XI International Competition Alexander Scriabin in Paris – France; First Prize on the International Piano Competition “Simone Delbert – Fevrier” in Nice Cote d’Azur – France; First Prize on the International competition for young musicians “Dimitar Nenov” - Bulgaria; First Prize at the International Piano Competition “Citta di Spoleto” in Spoleto, Italy; First Prize on the International Piano Competition “Jean Sibelius” – Finland;

First Prize and Special Prize “Young Star” at the International Music Competition “Grand Prize Virtuoso” – London, Two times First Prize and Judges Distinction Award winner at the International Competition “American Protégé” – New York, USA and many others.

He has played sixteen times as a solist of different philharmonic orchestras such as Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra, Vratsa Philharmonic Orchestra, Sliven Philharmonic Orchestra, the orchestra of State Opera Stara Zagora, the orchestra of Barlassina – Italy, Round Rock Symphony Orchestra in Texas, the orchestra of the National Academy of Music in Sofia and others.

His first recital was held at the age of eight in Turkey, followed by many recitals in Sofia, Plovdiv, Brussels, Paris, Geneva and others.

Nikolay has participated in a lot of Master’s classes, including Dmitrii Bashkirov, Boris Slutsky, Itamar Golan, Jason Kwak, Julian Martin, Daniel Rivera, Alexander Kobrin and so on.

He is a three times laureate of the Prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture - Bulgaria for high creative achievements.
