Τα δεκανίκια, ή πώς ξέμαθα να περπατώ
Μια βουβή κωμωδία με τη συνοδεία ζωντανής μουσικής, βασισμένη στο ομώνυμο ινδικό λαϊκό παραμύθι
Περίληψη του έργου
Μια ολόκληρη πολιτεία, όπου όλα κυλούν ομαλά, αναστατώνεται όταν ο πολυαγαπημένος της βασιλιάς τραυματίζεται βαριά. Θεραπευτές από παντού και κάθε είδους σπεύδουν να του σώσουν τη ζωή και τα καταφέρνουν με τίμημα τη μόνιμη αναπηρία του και την υποχρέωση να κινείται μόνο με τη βοήθεια δεκανικιών. Τότε ο βασιλιάς διατάζει : «Όλοι πρέπει να περπατούν με δεκανίκια αλλιώς τους περιμένει θάνατος.».
Η πολιτεία αντιδρά, καταστέλλεται σκληρά, υποτάσσεται και τελικά ενσωματώνει πλήρως τη διαταγή ως ανάγκη και τρόπο ζωής. Έτσι μετά από καιρό κανείς δεν περπατά σαν πρώτα.
Όταν όμως μια μέρα ο βασιλιάς πεθαίνει, ένας ξένος που ακόμα περπατά στα πόδια του θα εμφανιστεί και θα παρακινήσει τους πολίτες να κάνουν το ίδιο. Μόνο μια ομάδα νέων παιδιών θα τον πιστέψουν και θα τον αναζητήσουν για να τους μάθει να περπατούν. Και η ομάδα αυτή, τελικά, θα δώσει μία και μοναδική ευκαιρία στην πολιτεία να αντιμετωπίσει ξανά τον παλιό νόμο σε έναν αγώνα μέχρι θανάτου.

About us
The theatrical group “Art Vouveau” has been active in Athens(Greece) since 2013 searching the link between silent movies and physical theater. Founding members of Art Vouveau are Thanasis Megalopoulos, Foivos Symeonidis , Afroditi Kleovoulou and Danai Tikou. The team also collaborates on a regular basis with the musician Giannis Selekos and the acrobat-dancer Camilo Bentancor.
Our desire is to work together and explore a theatrical code that is powerful and entertaining at the same time. Among the primary goals of our team are the correlation of the artistic work with the social and political realities that generate it and the projection of our work to the general public but also to disadvantaged groups.
"The Crutches"
A silent comedy with live music, based on the homonymous Indian folktale
Plot
A whole state, where life runs smoothly, gets upset when their beloved King gets seriously injured. Therapists of every kind from all over the world rush to save his life and succeed, although at the expense of permanent disability and the obligation to move only with the help of crutches. Then the king gives the order: “Everyone must walk with crutches otherwise be sentenced to death”.
The state reacts and is repressed hard, gets subjugated and eventually fully integrates the orders in their way of life. Thus, after some time noone walks like they did before.
But when one day the king dies, a foreigner who still walks without crutches will appear and motivate people to do the same. Only a group of young children will believe in him and get him to teach them to walk. And this group will ultimately provide the state with a unique opportunity to face again the old law in a fight to the death.
